Traditional Welcome family and friends. We are gathered here today to witness the Union of these two people in holy matrimony. Marriage is a sacred institution that should be entered into with great care and thought. John and Jane have shown that deep commitment to each other and are overjoyed to share with you this moment where they affirm their commitment to each other.
I Corinthians says: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
It is with glad hearts that John and Jane vow to love one another in this way, not only keeping the vows with each other but remembering to keep God in their marriage and relying on his holy word during those times when things seem darkest. For they know that it is with the support of God that lies the true strength of their Union.
